The designers in footwear company Nike’s graphic studio held their third one-night-only charity exhibition last Saturday at Gallery 35 in Portland, Oregon.
Under the theme ‘Outside the Box’ the exhibition featured work in a variety of media from the Nike designers who were given the opportunity to branch out from their regular day-to-day graphic design duties.
The theme challenged the designers to think outside of the box and to craft and create original art inspired by sneaker culture and Nike’s “footwear DNA”, with exhibits on the night including the likes of custom boomboxes and limited edition figurines.
The Nike team consists of 50 designers from a variety of backgrounds whose work focuses on t-shirt graphics and headwear, as well as licensed products.
The third exhibition from the Nike Graphic Studio, proceeds from Outside the Box went to The Girl Effect, a charity empowering young women around the globe.
