In a significant break with tradition, the BBC has decided to collaborate with a design company to produce a range of Dr Who related products to commemorate the iconic series’ 50th anniversary in 2013. The widely recognised success of the relaunched 1960’s show has resulted in the BBC and Skew & Rude pitching a home ware range to an audience whose ages range from 16 – 60. I suspect this is a conservative estimate given the longevity of the programme and its mass appeal.

There are 14 products, each bearing bold, graphic images of instantly recognisable props and characters from the show including the Cybermen, the Tardis and of course, the Daleks –  all packaged in a no nonsense cardboard box.

The tea pots, mugs, pencils, notepaper and greetings cards will be available from next month.
